Itool For Mac

As the title suggests, I'd love to be able to simply type out the name, time and location of a hypothetical event reminder via Terminal such that I don't have to open up a GUI calendar and spend several minutes clicking through the (crude) interface.
Honestly, depressingly, the 'RemindMe!' bot on Reddit more or less does what I want my Mac to be able to. The best option I've found so far is this Stack Exchange thread, but I'd still prefer a programme or application that does this in more elegant way.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help, and hope you all had fun Holidays and a even better New Year to come!
